25 Years Apolonia - Five renowned chefs cook up original dishes

Five of the top local chefs provided a range of signature dishes to Apolonia Customers to mark the 25 year anniversary of this sucessful business.

Piet presented a magnificant smoked salmon with caviar and japanese seaweed washed down with a superb “Atlas Quinta Cresendo” white wine.

 

Rally Gourmet Algarve

the Algarve Gourmet Rally organized by the Almancil Business Association was sponsored by Apolonia supermarket. 

The rally started at the Hermitage Restaurant, (now Gourmet Natural) where participants began their culinary journey with an entree prepared by the chief Chris Dines UK. The tour continued with the second dish at Restaurant Amadeus, care of the chief Austrian Siegfried Danlos-Heinemann, followed by a fish dish made by the chief German Jens Rittmeyer at Restaurant Sao Gabriel. 

The main course for the rally was at Florian Restaurant, and the responsibility of the chief delights of Dutch Piet Warink, while the dessert was created by French chef Yannick Guichoua at the final destination, the Old House Restaurant.

 

The winner received a trip to some of the best restaurants in the Golden Triangle, spread across five European countries. 

A large percentage of the proceeds of the inscriptions of the guests of the rally was for the Rotary Club of Loulé and distributed to needy people.

 

CCharity Dinner at Florian Restaurant - October 2009

A Charity Dinner in aid of the Portuguese Home for the Elderly (ASCA) in Almancil

 was hosted at Restaurant Florian where guests were invited to contribute to the charity an amount corresponding to what they feel the dinner is worth. All proceeds went go to ASCA. The evening included a wine auction, a raffle and a wine tasting organised by Chris Williams from the South African wine producer Meerlust in the Stellenbosch region.

 A total of €10,000 was raised.
